Thailand is looking to secure its spot for gas reserves that are located in Western Canada. Officials announced a new plan to guarantee a large portion of the reserves for Thailand. They are looking to compete with China, Japan, and South Korea in obtaining oil from Canada and feel that this form of natural gas is crucial to its developing economy.
I find this article interesting because it shows the necessity of fuel not only for convenience, but for success of a country economically as well. In a world that is developing at faster rates than ever before the demand for a share in oil reserves will only become more competitive. Countries like Thailand will play a role of increasing importance because of this in the future.
