A recent poll in Taiwan reported that more than 70 percent said "they will need to retire later than they originally planned due to financial necessity." Many of the respondents said this delay was necessary because of inadequate savings and lack of job stability. 60 percent of respondents said that their savings could only sustain them three months when they were jobless.
This article shows that the economic climate is bleak for many countries. Too often, I think people in the United States believe that we are the only ones that are suffering from job insecurity, rising costs, and insufficient funds to retire on. This downturn in the economy truly is global and I think it is important to remember that there are other people in the world who are suffering because of it as well.
