Japan Starts Asking Other Countries to Invest

Recently, Japan has been struggling to get investments in some of its cities near the nuclear power plant so it has decided to move more towards foreign investments. Before this decision, Japan had one of the lowest levels of foreign investment in the world. When they realized that they couldn’t recover on their own, they moved outside the country and asked other countries for assistance. China was the most willing to invest. By letting other countries invest and put businesses in Japan, Japan has seen that foreign affiliated businesses supply more jobs than domestic ones so almost everyone is better off. I thought this was interested because I never realized how self-reliant Japan really was. And I thought it was really fasinating that Japan was so willing to reach out to other countries in their time of need and that other countries were so willing to help out.

  1. I'm glad that Japan is seeking investors from out side of the country. It seems just impossible to recover its economy without becoming more global.
