Hong Kong’s Killer Pollution

Air pollution has attributed to death in Hong Kong China.  In results of a recent study, 3200 people die yearly due to air pollution.  This air pollution according to Joanne Ooi states that this air pollution is due to the traffic pollution.  Dr. Chit-Ming Wong gives advice in which he says to limit our time outside. Through this article we can get a glimpse of the environment we will be a part of.

  1. That is kind of scary. 3,200 might not seem like alot of people when talking about billions, but to me it seems like a large number of potentially preventable deaths due directly to pollution. It makes me appreciate the relatively clean country we live in. Good thing we will only be breathing in Hong Kong for a few days! -Ben Rindlisbacher

  2. Thanks McKenzie - this really makes me excited to go work in New York! Haha. Really, though, it is terrible how dirty many of our world's biggest cities have become. If kept clean, they could be such amazing places to visit and/or live in. However, in their current state, they truly do take years off our lives. It's too bad. I had no idea Hong Kong had such problems. Thanks for posting this.
