at research firm IHS Automotive in Tokyo. “There’s nothing
anywhere that even compares. This was the biggest disaster
worldwide for the auto industry.” The biggest challenge for car companies is recovering from the loss of the smaller suppliers. Because so many small suppliers were wiped out, larger companies lost access to things such as paint color.
This article puts into perspective how much large companies rely on others. Even though large companies like Toyota can bounce back from natural disasters quickly, they are nothing without their suppliers.
